Ford Transit Ambulance Support Unit.

C163LTN was one of two Support units operated by Northumbria Ambulance. This one is seen at Seaburn Fire Engine Rally around 1998. This short lived rally (I only knew of it being on once) was held at Seaburn Park in Sunderland Tyne and Wear, and attracted many vehicles from the local Emergency services.

This is a 1985 County Transit based on the Ford transit mk2 the conversion to 4x4 was carried out by County Commercial Cars Ltd(County Tractors)

Seaburn rally was at on for around 5 years. It was a nice little gathering, which was heavily supported by the fire brigade. The then CFO, was a strong believer in the history and the charity aspects of these vehicle rallies.

There were four of these, two in Northumbria, one in Durham and one at Cleveland. The Cleveland one is still around now used by a Garage at Ryton, Tyne & Wear. The Northumbria ones went out to Poland and the Durham one became a mobile workshop.
